native 10 m
with vs without
band completion
Each comparison shows three panels for one place: the Sentinel-2 true-colour image a satellite would downlink; what that index looks like WITHOUT TESSERA (from the visible bands only); and the WITH-TESSERA index decoded from the free co-located embedding at native 10 m. The point: vegetation greenness has a rough visible proxy, but the near-infrared / SWIR indices (NDWI water, NDMI moisture, NBR burn, NDRE) are physically not recoverable from RGB — only the embedding carries them. The WITH-TESSERA map is a learned decode (≈R² 0.75), spatially real but an estimate; the emem per-cell value (shown in the title) is the true reference. See also the chat and global map.
